Weather hits first full week

<poster>4</poster>

The weather took our 1s and 2s out of action, and with the 4s game being called off due to the artificial wicket having not been installed yet, only the 3s were able to play today.

The 3s travelled to Banchory, where, bowling first, David Kidd took 3 early wickets, followed by Neil Wright taking 2 meant the home side were reduced to 30-5. Due to some slack bowling later on in the innings, Banchory reached 123 before Colin Moir took the final wicket of the innings.

Colin Moir and BJ Grant started well and reached 59 without loss, but a quick fall of wickets left the chase looking a long way away, until Neil Wright, helped by a solid Sabith Al Mamun held on and got the final few runs with plenty of overs to spare.

Next week sees the 1s travel to Corstorphine in the Scottish Cup, the 2s welcome newly formed Doocot Park to Peoples Park, the 3s, if the artificials are laid will play Knightriders at Harlaw, and the 4s will hope that Sheds is ready for cricket to play Crescent.

2012 Fixtures

<poster>4</poster>

I have done a small update to put the 2012 Fixtures for the 1st team and 2nd team onto the website and the Facebook page. Will hopefully get around to doing something with these on the Twitter page too. I will update all of the sources with more information with the Grades fixtures once we have them.

National League Reform

<poster>4</poster>

After several meetings, the league structure at the top level has been changed to an East and West Premier and 1st Divisions, each consisting of 8 teams. We will be playing in the Eastern Premier League alongside Carlton, Arbroath, Forfarshire, Aberdeenshire, Grange, Watsonians and Heriots. Only 1 team will be relegated from this league in the 2012 season.

A play-off between the winners of the East and West leagues will decide the overall Cricket Scotland League winners.

The Scottish Cup Structure has also been changed. Eight 4 team mini-leagues have been introduced and will face each other home and away on 6 different matchdays. We have been drawn alongside Western sides West of Scotland and East Kilbride and Eastern Division 1 side RH Corstorphine.
