Stoneys hit top spot, twice!! : Shirker on 21.07.08

Both our 1st XI and 2nd XI squads moved into the top spot of their respectives leagues this weekend. sncl For our 1st XI an unbeaten 50 for Jan and 3 wickets a peice for Michael Leask and George made sure Edinburgh stayed in bottom place. Strathmore While in the strathmore union Mike Louw's 60no was enough to keep our promotion chances very much alive.

Record Breaking at peoples park : Shirker on 20.05.08

JAN STANDER and David Lamb were in record-breaking form this weekend as they ran riot against Edinburgh to rattle up the highest total of the SNCL season thus far. Our Captain blasted a fast 123, while David Lamb proved the backbone of the innings, carrying his bat for 113 not out. Edinburgh responded in positive style to being set a lofty target of 343 and for a while they looked capable of pulling off a remarkable chase. Opener Raja Javed hammered 80 off just 37 balls before being removed by Jan. From then on, we were on easy street. Jan was no slouch either when he was at the crease, completing his ton from 98 deliveries. After the match Jan had this to say: "It was a special day for everyone at People's Park, whether they were playing or watching. I was thrilled to get back among the runs and I have to pay tribute to the composure of David. We put on 255 together, which I am told is a club record. I am very proud about that fact - and so should David be."

Outdoor Nets : Shirker on 21.08.07

Well here we are. The season has finally arrived. We are starting outdoor nets on - Tuesday 1st April, 6 - 7:30pm Honest this is not an early April Fool. So please bring suitable clothes and footwear (it is likely to be cold, wet and slippy underfoot). Please make every effort to attend these sessions as the season starts now. So get focused and be prepared to do your bit on and off the pitch. Remember every little helps.
