Message from the Captain : Shirker on 2010-01-07

Hello all,
Season’s greetings. I hope all of you have had a wonderful Christmas and Santa was generous to you all. As most of you are aware the National Leagues will be restructured for the 2011 season. The management committee of the Club wants the 1st XI to play in the Premiership/premier league from the season of 2011. I will not bore you all with the details but what it means is that the 1st XI has to finish in the top four on Division 1 at the end of the 2010 season. The second team captain and vice captain wants the 2nds to finish in the top half of the Strathmore premier league as well.

With the New Year around the corner and the new season only three months away the cricket committee (thanks to martin) has arranged indoor training sessions. The Indoor training sessions have been arranged at Shedocksly, between 11am to 1pm from the 10th January 2009 for the next 8 weeks, i.e. 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st of Jan, 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th Feb 2010. This is expensive and after club subsidizing, it will cost £6/session or a one off £40 for the 8 sessions. You can choose to pay using either of the two options. The only deadline that I put in place is that if you want to pay for the 8 blocks then please bring a check to the very first training session if not you will have to pay on a session by session basis and this will have to be paid up-front before each session as this is required to pay for the hire of the facility. I would like to get a rough idea of numbers so that session plans can be organized. The 8 week sessions will have different themes with a certain level of personalization for each individual. Please feel free to spread the word among friends and other members that I may have missed.
