Big Weekend Ahead for Stoneywood : Rayner on 2010-07-28
The 1st team have a trip to bottom side Penicuik on the cards as they look to secure their place in the new format Premier Division for next season. A win would also boost aspirations of going into the new format as champions of Division 1.
The 2nd team have a tough fixture against Strathearn. Having lost their last 4 matches, a win is crucial as they sit in sixth position, but only 3% of the bottom of the table.
The 3rd team have a must win match against 2nd Dunecht at Duthie. Their youth policy will remain in place but several key players are away this week.
Having young players step up to the 1st team and 2nd team is always promosing, but this year its the U13 players stepping up to the 3rd team that are making a big impact this season.
Abdullah Afridi playing a big part in the last couple of weeks with 24 against 2nd Mannofield and 3-14 against league leaders Knightriders. Ewan Davidson helped out the team by stepping in and taking 2-8. With several other players on the fringe of the team, the future of the Grades team looks very good, with another three or four players available on their return from holiday.
